Global mentorship is important because it connects women who are vulnerable to violence with empowered women from elsewhere to tangibly show that there is a whole world of other people who know about them and who care.

 

It makes one’s world less isolated and serves to empower through friendship.

  • I first learned about Erika Schulten and her organization through a regional newspaper interview. The way her experiences deployed to Iraq and later as a graduate researcher traveling to Iraq blossomed into a vision of helping Kurdish women in desperate straits was an anointing from God. My husband and I were so moved by her story and dedication to Jesus that we simply had to contribute to the Kurdistan Global Women’s Alliance.
